Expert FAQs

What is a chemical skin peel?

A chemical peel is a professional skin-resurfacing treatment where a customized chemical solution (such as glycolic, salicylic, or lactic acid) is applied to the skin. It gently exfoliates and removes damaged outer layers, stimulating new cell growth and collagen production to reveal smoother, clearer skin underneath.

What skin concerns can chemical peels treat?

Chemical peels are versatile and effectively target:

  • Acne & Breakouts: Clears clogged pores and reduces active inflammation.

  • Hyper pigmentation: Fades sun spots, and post-inflammatory dark marks.

  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles: Smooths surface texture and supports collagen synthesis.

  • Dullness & Rough Texture: Removes dead skin cells to restore a natural, healthy glow.

  •

What peel will be used?

Peels are generally categorized by depth:

  1. Light / Superficial Peels (e.g., AHAs, BHAs, Fruit Enzymes): Gentle exfoliation targeting the outermost skin layer. Zero to minimal downtime.

Does a chemical peel hurt?

Most clients experience a temporary warmth, tingling, or mild stinging sensation for 3 minutes while the acid solution is active on the skin. Neutralizing agents and cooling pads are applied immediately after to restore comfort.

How long does the appointment take?

A standard treatment session typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, making it an ideal "lunchtime procedure." This includes cleansing, skin preparation, peel application, neutralization, and post-treatment hydration/SPF application.

Important: Chemical peels may not be suitable if you are pregnant/nursing, currently taking Accutane (isotretinoin), or have active open wounds or severe facial eczema/rosacea.

Aftercare & Recovery

What should I avoid after a peel?

During the first 7 days following a treatment, strictly avoid:

  • Direct sun exposure (wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily).

  • Active skincare ingredients (retinoids, vitamin C, AHA/BHA exfoliants, physical scrubs).

  • Excessive heat, heavy sweating, saunas, and swimming pools for 48–72 hours.

Results & Maintenance

How soon will I see results?

You will notice an initial glow and smoother texture within 3 to 7 days as shedding subsides. Collagen production and pigment correction continue to improve over the following 2 to 4 weeks.

How many sessions do I need?

While a single light peel delivers an instant refresh, optimal results for acne, dark spots, or anti-aging usually require a series of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart.
